Carlos and Carlos Jr were great to work with and gave me a great price and on the estimate at my house went through it with them and there foreman on replacing the rotted facia boards and rotted Masonite siding and replaced that with Hardy Boards ! In my almost 60 years on earth, I have never hired painters. I've always done the work myself, fearing no one is going to do the job to my satisfaction. Having recently purchased a new home we needed all the trim and walls repainted, a job that would have consumed months of weekends having done it myself. Crunched for time a neighbor who also has extremely high quality standards recommended Glenny's Painting.

From our first meeting with Carlos this entire job was exceptional. They covered every square inch of our newly refinished floors, masked and sealed all surfaces to protect from overspray. They applied a beautiful spray finish to all doors and trim and even sprayed all window grids and built in cabinet doors onsite. The wall finish had no drips, runs, or signs of overlap resulting in a smooth wall finish. Everyone on the team was extremely professional and clean, no playing with phones, no coffee cups lying around, and everyone moved with a purpose. This was a huge job and we even added a couple of additional items during their visit and the got it all done on schedule. Most importantly, they spent hours cleaning everything up when they were done. I have now found a painting company that can meet my obsessive quality standards. Carlos and his entire crew were outstanding. They took great care in prepping the entire home. Protecting floors, countertops, and everything in between before starting the painting of the whole interior. Every detail was exceptionally completed, cleanup was amazing. They completed the painting of over 2200 sq. feet in just 2 days. We chose 6 different colors and 2 finishes. The team kept us updated during the painting, lines were crisp, every surface painted evenly with 2 coats. I'm very happy with the job the team did on my home. Firstly, I found Carlos to be professional. When he evaluated my home, he provided me a quote the next day by email. Previously, I had contacted 5-6 painters and many only provided quotes verbally or if they did send one, it was weeks later.

We bought a home in South Charlotte that needed painting in February. The original owners were renting the home back from us until their kids got out of school for summer, so our realtor was nice enough to coordinate communication with the original owners and arrange visits with the different vendors we needed. Carlos Glenny (the owner of Glenny's painting) sent us an estimate through our realtor in early March based on the Zillow photos. However, Carlos warned our realtor that it would cost extra to remove the texture from the walls, so he wanted to go see the home in person before he quoted that part of the work. The estimate seemed reasonable and we figured that we could always choose not to do the texture removal if the price came in too high, so we agreed to move forward. Fast forward to the middle of May and Carlos is finally able to get in the home (granted, this was complicated as we had to coordinate with the original owners through our realtors). Without explanation, he sends us a revised estimate that is 23% higher on the original work plus another 21% to remove the texture! I was just expecting the quote for the texture, so I was shocked that he raised the price on everything! When I questioned this, he told me that the original estimate was very rough and that he couldn't tell from the photos that there were multiple rooms to prime, almost the whole house has crown molding, and that some of the ceilings will need two coats of paint. I pointed out to him that you can see the crown molding in all the pictures and that it was clear to me, as a novice, from the pictures that most of the rooms would have to be heavily primed as they had darker colors and custom finishes. I ask if he can honor the original estimate and he tells me he can't as he won't be able to make a profit. Over the course of several conversations, another visit to the house, and another week, we continue to discuss it. At this point, it's only about 10 days until he was going to begin work, so it's difficult, if not impossible, to get anybody else in there to get another estimate before we move in, so we're in a bind. It's obvious that he's not going to honor the original estimate, so I suck it up and offer to meet him halfway but he won't budge. He tells me that everyone knows that painting estimates are rough and that it's not like the other trades where they can do an accurate esimate based on online photos. So why did he give one? He keeps adding more reasons why he needed to raise the price, telling me the doors are peeling so he needs to sand them (you weren't going to sand the doors!?!?) and my favorite was that it was going to cost more because we're having the floors refinished, so he's going to have to be extra careful when covering them (you're not normally careful with the floors?). We ended up not using Glenny's and we're going to have to find another painter after we move all of our stuff in. I had to laugh when I read the motto on their website "Customer satisfaction over profit is a motto we live by every day." We originally chose Glenny's because of all of the 5 star reviews, but our experience was much different.

Glenny’s painting did a great job painting my 2-story great room and foyer as well as hallway to 3rd floor. Highly recommend. They were careful to cover floors and furniture well. Clean up was just as good as they were thorough, making sure to get any paint specks/splatter cleaned off wood floor etc. only took a day and a half and they applied 3 coats as it needed it. The entire experience was really terrific.
